# Spirit Monkeys

The **SPIRIT MONKEYS** is our first incursion into Ordinals and was a FREE mint for those who had a Monkey Family ([OG Monkey](https://bitcoin-monkeys.gitbook.io/bm/bm-collections/og-monkeys), [MM1](https://bitcoin-monkeys.gitbook.io/bm/bm-collections/mutant-monkeys), [MM2](https://bitcoin-monkeys.gitbook.io/bm/bm-collections/mutant-monkeys) & [Monkey Kid](https://bitcoin-monkeys.gitbook.io/bm/bm-collections/monkey-kids)). It minted on September 27 2023 on our 3rd year mint anniversary. Initially was set to have a 500 supply, but after a very quick mintout we raised the total to 800 (only for family holders).

One of the biggest benefits for many of our Spirit Monkey holders has been qualifying for the [**RUNESTONE**](https://magiceden.us/ordinals/marketplace/runestone) (the biggest drop in Bitcoin Ordinal history). All those that were holding 3 Spirit Monkeys by the time of the Runestone snapshot got it airdropped. This proved to be VERY profitable for many.
